Ultrasound pictures

My friend Shannon was asking if I was going to post ultrasound pictures on Facebook. She said she had never seen one of twins before. Unfortunately they aren't that much different from regular ultrasounds, maybe they can't fit both of the babies on the screen at the same time? I really don't know. But there they are! Sorry for the weird gap between photos and text, but I have fooled with the scanner and photo editing software as much as I can stand for one day!!!! So clockwise from the top left, Baby B, Baby A, Baby B and then both of their little heads from the top down, you can see the membranes that are separating them.
Ultrasounds are weird. They look freaky, and sort of humanoid, but seeing them brought a lot new feelings to the surface. It made all the morning sickness worth it! So there they are, our babies.....

The big day

Today is the big day. It's our first ultrasound where we get some information about what's really going on in there! Well, besides the one when we found out we were having twins! Hopefully we'll come out of it with the knowledge of whether we'll be parenting little boys (nail down everything!) or little girls (lots of toenail polish!) or one of each (wouldn't that be perfect.)
I'll let you know what we find out! Either way, we're overjoyed!

Sunday

I know I haven't done a house post in a long time. It's mostly because Scott's been doing all the little boring stuff like wiring and plumbing. Not that they're not important things! It's not like we don't need water and electricity, but those things make boring progress reports.
So here's a semi-exciting progress report:

A tub! And it's just like the one we have now, which I really wanted. So that's what we spent our Sunday doing. Driving to Grand Mound, Iowa (North of Davenport) to get the corner tub we found on Craig's List. I know it's not the claw foot tub I mentioned earlier in the blog, but this will make me happy when it's all installed and I get to take a nice long bubble bath in it! :)

The kind of trouble you can get up to on Etsy

ohmigoodness!!!!! A stuffed platypus?!? I'm pretty sure that our bebes just won't develop their little minds properly if I don't make this. Not to mention that we'll need a hippo or two to stimulate their tiny little imaginations further!
And this caterpillar is too, too cute.....

and last but not least they should learn right off that fish can smile. :)Click one of the pictures to visit Never Enough Hours Etsy shop......

baby gator sighting

Scott keeps reminding me that I have to make the elephant next. I'm just so in love with this baby gator that he must think I'll never be able to make anything else! :)

What I actually got up last weekend.....

I did do some of what I planned, sort of. I made a stuffed felt aligator from this pattern:

You can click the picture to go to homemadebyjill and print out the pattern. The stuffed gator is just the bees knees! I'll try to remember to take a picture after I get the eyes stitched on. I cut out the elephant too, but haven't managed to sew it together yet. Maybe tonight.

I also went to the Grinnell Garden Club annual plant sale on Saturday morning. Whoa! I made off with a serious haul! Lots of plants for a little money. Serious fun for a plant-a-holic like me. Then I stopped at a little family nursery on the edge of town and got a Liberty hosta and a June hosta. They look pretty similar in the pictures, but June (in the bottom pic) is a small to medium hosta, and Liberty is a BIG one. I got them both planted over in Newburg along with quite a few other things on Sunday afternoon while Scott mowed the lawn.

Saturday night we went out to Kelcy's for supper in Grinnell for Mother's day with Scott's parents. My first celebration of Mom's day! I had a wonderful time and a really great piece of prime rib, but I'm afraid I overindulged just a teensy bit. I was absolutely miserable until about 1 am! There's just not that much room in my tummy these days. I'm going to have to learn I can't eat a big meal like that and still be happy! :)

Hope all you other moms had a great mother's day weekend!

I'm back!

Okay, okay. I know it's been a looonnggg time. But I've been really busy. I swear! I've been making something.......TWINS! It's been a tough project but it looks like one I'm going to finish. :) So now I'm in serious crafting mode. I'll have until sometime around the beginning of October to finish up all my little Bebe projects before the real Bebes show up. Here's what I'm thinking this weekend:

You can get to the seriously cute tute at Taffy Talk by clicking on the picture. My Bebes are gonna need a couple of these.

I am thinking a couple of cute and simple bags modeled after one I picked up last weekend at Sage in Grinnell. You know to carry dipes and wipes and other bebe sundries in! I'll try to let you know what I get up to since I'm feeling better now!
